Update on injector pump

Well I got the numbers off the Roosa Master injector pump for my Oliver 1655. Called a local (Richmond) shop and like I expected it is a common pump with parts available. When I asked for a estimate $1000. Called the other shop-- same answer. When I pulled the window on the pump to time it fuel just poured out which makes pretty sure a seals gone. Anyway shut off the fuel at the tank and got it finished, except for the bloody bolt behind everything but it finally gave up and came off. Now to just get it rebuilt, I expect the final price will be lower but if not--oh well.

If you have not already taken your pump infor the rebuild, look up Tri-State Diesel in Dothan, Alabama, you can search Google for contact information, friend of mine called them about the Roosamaster pump on his 800 Ford tractor, they told him $650, you may be better off shipping it to them

There are a few pump guys on here. Have you tried any of them? Will probably get a better deal than a shop.

There?s an old man about two miles from me that was rebuilding them for $150 as of this year, his health has rapidly declined and he?s recovering from a blood clot in his lung, wish I had the time to hang around him and learn some of his knowledge. He was a tractor mechanic all his life at a Ford dealership, Massey Ferguson and Long tractors too.

If you are any where Henagar Al. try the guys very good work Diesel fuel systems 256 657-5193.Got a quote from Dixie diesel for $800 on a pump did the exact same work less then $300.

"When I pulled the window on the pump to time it fuel just poured out which makes pretty sure a seals gone."

If fuel DIDN'T run out of the pump's timing window you'd have problems!

The Stanadyne pumps are cooled and lubed by diesel fuel and the housing is supposed to be FULL of fuel.

For some reason injection pump rebuild prices are sky high here in Virginia, like was said there are a couple guys on here that do inj. pump rebuilds at a fair price.

Most rotary pumps I see in for repair run between 300-400 for complete tear down, inspection, repair as needed with all new gaskets and seals, calibration reset, and includes return shipping too. E-mail is [email protected] if you have any questions.

Wow, guess I should move to your area. Sounds like good money. Makes my 450 to do pump and nozzles look skimpy. Those fellas are trying to make all their money off one job. Funny thing is they not only keep their doors open, but they stay fairly busy. Old saying is a new sucker is born each day. Al
