I have a 5.9 Cummins industrial engine with a Bosch pump on it. On the tag it says 3916910 RX and m121498031 and Phase II and remanufactured Cummins. It hasn?t run in at least 10 years. Is there anything I should do with the pump before I try to start it? It has been stored inside under cover.

Make sure the electr. solenoid is getting power..
Locate the manual shut-off lever on the side of the inj. pump.. incase things go wrong.
Loosen the lines AT THE INJECTORS to bleed the air & spin the engine..
wait until you have fuel squirting out there & tighten..
IF the injectors aren't stuck, it should fire up..

Thank You! I have read some horror stories about damaging a pump when trying to start an engine that has set for a long time.
