That is an interesting combo. Wonder if you can take it down the road?
Bet you never get out of 2nd. They tried that with the B-36 bombers.
They were even powered! Just before the plane would touch down they
would spin the tracks up to landing speed. The artical said the tracks
sounded like some giant mechanical coffee grinder and it howled. they
settled on multiple tires instead.

Found a small plane. Trying to find the B-36 stuff. The original gear was a Huge single tire affair. It was so heavy that one broke loose from the stowed position and damn near ripped the wing right off of the plane. They quickly moved to a normal multi wheel arrangement.

I would think that set up would put too much stress

Wow! That's a first, never knew they tried tracked planes!
The small ones looked like they worked well.
But the big one, doesn't look like much weight improvement...
