Disking Some Rough Ground

Did a little work with the old IH tandem disk and 2090 on the weekend. Some of the reclaimed land that has been inaccessible due to water for
the past few years. It was spiked last fall which left it pretty soddy and lumpy. The disk is pretty light duty but does help break it up and
smooth it out. Hopefully we can seed something there this spring.

Enjoyed your video very much. I have the very same old set of IH disc , I drag over ploughed sod, and just watching was making my back and butt hurt, lol. I?ll bet the duals smooth out the ride some

Looks similar to IH model 37, but heavier. What disc is it?

In a very very old farm magazine there was a picture of a man disking down a moldboard plowed pasture. He was driving an un-styled JD A or B on steel. The caption said "A rough rider's job in anybody's book!" I like the "rough riders" reference. Some of the words they used way back when are certainly different than what we would use today! Like one gentleman who "got provoked" and plowed up a field of alfalfa because it kept growing back and he got tired of making hay!

Spikes refers to the narrow chisel points on the cultivator. That IH disk is a model 470 I think.

By gosh that is working up pretty good. Go across it one more time and you should be able to seed something in it.
