hydraulic cylinder seals

I have a couple 20 year old hydraulic cylinders probably bought at tractor supply or some similar store. They are starting to leak
around the shaft. How likely will it be to find new seals for them, and where would be the best place to look?

If you can find a shop that overhauls hydraulics they can match the seals. Some of the guys on here will chime in with more info; there is a Baum (?) hydraulics that some have spoken highly of.

Depends where you are located. Are these cylinders that are held together with spanner nuts or 4 tie rods? There are hydraulic supply houses that just sell to seals for hydraulics. I had to reseal 2 40 year od loader seals and the local hydraulic supplier saved ne over 100 dollars instead of O E seals.

If.....it's the seals leaking , Lucas oil hydraulic sealer has worked for me in the past. Napa can get it. Opinions will vary.......

Very likely. Break one down and remove the O-Rings and other seals and take it to a place that rebuilds hydraulic cylinders. More than likely they will have the parts in stock. If not they can order them.

We have a place called Zatkoff Seals and Packings around here. I don't do a lot of cylinders, but I don't think they have ever let me down on those types of seals.
