JD 4050 problems

I have a JD 4050 w/359 engine & the oil pressure light (buzzer) keeps coming on when it warms up. I've changed the oil & filter, same thing. Could it be a bad
sending unit or a loose connection somewhere? Would appreciate any info anyone might have. THANKS

The 7400 we have was doing that. Hooke up a gauge and verified the pressure. Pressure was spot on with the gauge plumbed into the oil pressure sensor port indicating the pressure sending unit was bad.

Here's a third agreement with the others. I have a tractor which will beep at me if I draw the engine down while at idle, when hot. I screwed a mechanical gauge into a handy spot permanently. I can check it right from where I get on and off the tractor.

The oil pressure light started to blink on an 856 Farmall once when I was plowing with it.

Turned out the wire to the pressure sender had the insulation worn down in one spot and would occasionally short.

Otherwise, as others have said, verify the pressure with a mechanical gauge and if it's OK try replacing the sender.
