Selling Old Tractors in US & Overseas

A few years ago, I heard there was a guy in or around Kentucky buying up old Farmall cultivating tractors and shipping them overseas. He might have been sending them to Brazil or to Austrailia. Was talking to a part-time tractor jockey in Kentucky today and he was telling me about it. Couldn't remember who it was, but I have several I'd like to sell and would be nice to find out who the guy is. He must have been getting them for the organic farms over there. Would hate to let them leave the US, but not many people here using them anymore.

(quoted from post at 07:15:41 05/02/18) Where are you located at? I’m interested in farmall cultivators and other cultivating tractors.
located in central Alabama.

We are still buying the stuff but haven't had any interest this year like I usually do. Both in tractors and implement/parts.

Several years ago there was a fellow in SE IN that bought vintage tractors and shipped them to collectors in Europe in shipping containers.

The dollar was week, the market was strong and Europeans were interested.

Much has changed since so I doubt that much is being sent these days.

Just a humble opinion.....but if
stuff is too high priced it won't
sell .........in Alabama, KY or
over seas. We drove 800 miles
round-trip to buy a cub,$600 ,runs
like it's new. Nothing even close
in price around here. Drove 300
miles to get a belly mower for it.
Paid $125. Cuts like new. Again
price was the deciding
factor......

I think you have missed that market , in fact the market for the little cultivating tractors has cooled a lot. Just more of those tractors for sale than their are buyers..

Cultivating tractors? Does this mean small one row outfits like Farmall A, B and Cub, or larger two and four row setups?

Three years ago I attended a Farm auction ( Hythe area)here in North Western Alberta Canada.. A MF FE 35 1963 3 cylinder Perkins diesel sold that day for $6,300.00. Tractor had nothing outstanding as in looks....tires possibly 75% Appeared to be miss firing on one cylinder.
Tractor was sent to Central AFRICA.

That's what I'm talking about. We need to find these "fools" and sell some good tractors to them! Haha

That may be the only way to keep some value in these machines, because sooner or later the demand for old tractors as collector items is going to fall off hard, if it hasn't already.

That old Massey that brought $6300... Some other fool had to think it was worth $6200, and I highly doubt that there were two buyers from Africa there.
