Ya we got the same email. Not a very big cut but a cut none the less. The incentive days are being clawed back too. Quota on the island is starting to get cleaned up faster now too. Lots of new tanks going in here this spring. Did it finally warm up there yet? Been great weather here so far this week.

Was nice last week, now we are into rain for a few days, that will take the frost out. Two of my friends have to put in new bulk tanks , 60 Grand each , Wow ! And they will have to build a larger milk house to hold them. Who says bigger is always better ?

Wow that's a huge bill! We were looking for a 1000-1500 gal 11 years ago, only decent used tank nearby we could find at the time was a 2000 so we bought it. Glad we did now.

I recall quota cuts years ago..... the double whammy came when you bought used quota, paid for it with 12 percent interest loan, only to loose 10 percent due to cuts, never even having to get to use it!!!
Ben

I was right there along with you Ben, it was hard to swallow. The part most folks forget is quota cuts are as much a part of managing supply , as quota increases are. Never remember hearing anyone complaining about having quota increased.

I remember frequent cuts back 20 years ago too. They give us 20% in 3 years we can afford to loose a few if market deems ,that's what our great system is all about manage the supply to what the market requires.
