PTO Shaft Came Off While Bush hogging

My PTO shaft came off at the PTO drive today while Bush hogging. I do not see any bolts that secure it. Can anyone give me advice on how i can secure it so it won't happen again?

Those normally mount by taking the grease zerk out and then put a roll pin in thru that hole. Some tractors do not have that hole to match up, then you need a different style of overrunning clutch.

Take the grease fittings out and there is a roll pin that goes through the pto shaft to hold it on. At least that's how it is on mine from what I remember.

Pull your overriding coupler off and measure the inside part that the pin goes through for length, then check the size of the hole in the pto shaft on the
tractor,I think the roll pin is a 5/16,you may have to get one at a New Holland dealer to get one that long,I think they are around 2 inches.

5/16 x 2. Tractor Supply sells 2 1/2 inch. Makes no sense. They sell orc but not right pin. We went to harbor freight and got one of the plastic boxes of roll pins. The was several 2" in there.

If you put a roll pin in run a wire through
the center and around to help keep it there
my holes are wore a little wider than it
should be so they can work out.

The zerks hold it in place....ORC will not work with a wire thu it.
