Seen this-Here is how to turn a $7000 older 4020 into a $15000 console 4020! My knees hurt just looking at it.---Tee

(quoted from post at 19:16:20 04/09/18) I have always wondered if a person could bolt on a side console from a junk tractor?

SURE you could, if you had the rear-mount SCV's and matching rear end cover with the mounting provisions for 'em, and the all the associated plumbing!

Could you run cables under the floor pan
and into the dash? I just replaced the 3pt
list cable on our 4020 and it was a
pain, that when I got to thinking of the
conversion.

And to start an argument amongst you "bleeds Green" guys, which combine did he rob the control stack from?

4020-you should go back and give them more money before the sheriff comes to get you!---Tee

Never could understand the reasoning for mounting two rear remote valves right over the exhaust manifold. Then running four hyd lines under the floor pan to rust out. Just saying?

Looks to me like they took them out of the dash and hammered them straight and transferred them to the fender.---Tee

Luck has a lot to do with it Big Tee. Drove both of them 1 1/2 miles to their new home. The 3 brothers still stop and check them out during planting and harvest. We use them and baby them. The 4020 Tim S has had his fingers on twice. Hell of a mechanic

If he "customized" that so much what else has he done to the tractor????

I traded in a JD 7700 combine. The fellow had taken the air blower system off a Gleaner combine and cobbled it on the JD 7700. He had a whole list of stuff he had done to make it "better". That combine went straight to the salvage yard. Told the salvage guy to send me a check for what he felt it was worth. Talked to the salvage guy about a year later. He told me he lost his butt on that combine. Every single thing had been farmerised/cobbled so there where very few good parts left in it.

If I see a tractor that has been heavily modified I walk away from buying it. Life is too short for this craziness. LOL

I wonder if the owner lost his left arm in a farm accident. I knew a couple guys who lost limbs. The tractor was near and dear to this 4020 owner so he modified it so he could operate it with his current situation.

The Adirondack Case Guy could have made that modification look like it was factory. That is if any John Deere's were ever painted in Flambeau and Desert Sunrise! LOL

Mine is stil on the original hydraulic since 1967 as far as the valves above the exhaust manifold the only problem with that is it can be hard to adjust the flow of the scvs with the engine ruining. I guess they could have ran a couple half inch hoses from the pump back to a log splitter valve duct taped to the fender
