beautiful . like I have always said I rather carry a chevrolet hubcap then drive a ford. go ahead bring it on ,lol

Nice truck and a very good picture of the worked ground and the Easter Lilies. My first vehicle was a 1952 Chevy pickup. Your is a little older but it is still much the same. The engines would not run the miles we get today but they were durable too. Not much to go wrong on them.

I just thought of how we have kind of came full circle on starting a vehicle. Many of them now do not use a key and you just push a button. On yours you have a key BUT you push a button with your foot to start the engine. LOL

I wonder how many people would know how to start the old trucks?? Cock your foot sideways to pump the accelerator peddle while pushing starter button. All this while pulling the coke with your hand. Times have changed.

My dad had a 51,even had the same sideboards.Looked exactly like yours. Only his was dark blue.wish it was still around. It got traded in 66 on a brand new GMC. That one is still in the family.

That was the make, model and year of my first truck.......wayyyyyyyyy worse shape. Worked all summer as a deck hand on a Tug Boat running the Intercoastal Canal and lower Old Muddy to pay for it and have money for school.

That's where I found out about sawdust, 90 wt oil in the crankcase, and shady used car salesmen. Wink.

Really nice restoration you have there.......but you knew that. Grin.

Great-looking truck, I like the stock, unmolested look. I'm in Carroll County but next time through Anne Arundel I'll keep a lookout. Should be easy to pick out of the crowd :)

Sounds like you guys are in Maryland? Mostly grew up in Howard County. Don't think we'll be seeing green, or even grass, for awhile yet here.

Nice truck,

Yes, Maryland--actually part of my property is in Howard County. I'm around Mount Airy, where four counties meet. Winter is lingering here, snow flurries all day. Sounds like it's cold all over. Weekend is supposed to jump straight to early summer weather, though. Welcome to Maryland :)

Loved those wide whitewalls. I remember when they switched to the narrow ones and then later, everyone, including me, turned the white to the inside, unseen. Dad's 48 Plymouth had the white splats (we called them) that you could take off.

When they did that you didn't need "curb feelers" to keep from scuffing the sidewalls on curbs. Do remember the days....how about the rubber "white" inserts for blackwalls. I did that as a teen and every so often I'd have to break the tires down and reinsert them as they worked out.
