Looking at a d4006 with 3000hrs. There were a few 3006 and 4506 growing up in my area, they seemed to be pretty tough. Anybody else have experience with them.

i have deutz d90.06 & 6265. service manuals suck. only know i person that knows how to fix them. price a muffler (4 - 600 min). salvage yards except wards are clowns.

Uncle had a Deutz. Don't know what number but what a work horse. He used it for years pulling 2 large wagons, chopping stalks and pulling the 8-row planter. Never had one speck of trouble with it. Had about a million hours on it when he had auction. We all wanted to find fault with it as rest of relation was J.D. and Case but while ours were in shop he went right on working. I will say he took great care all his machinery so everything he had no matter what color, was in tip top shape.

I have seen quite a few in this area. Years ago there were a few dealers who pushed this brand aggressively and had a lot of tractors sold here in West Michigan. I have worked on many over the years and even own one. I feel the older ones were very tuff and reliable. Parts can be pricy, but what isn't now days. I would never be scared of a Deutz tractor built before the DX series. Al

I have a 6265 good tractor had the normal problem from it as with any other tractor.Like the other poster said Ward brother is only salvage yard around my area.Had one issue with them on a used part but they resolved quickly when I talked to the owner.

There used to be a yard down by Moline that advertised used parts and repairs for those. Wasn't Stamm,it was north of there. I wonder if that place is still there?

Ive had my d4006 now for 15 years. Its a work horse. I use it for everything when making hay except running the round baler. It sips the diesel compared to my other tractors. I can run it all day on less than 1 tank. It is air cooled also not water cooled. Ive not had to work on it much but parts are limited and pricey.

Only possible dealer for Duetz around Moline, Illinois I can think of is Dague Equipment in Maquoketa, Iowa. And they are still in business. Agco, Allis-Chalmers, Bobcat, McCormick, New Idea, Hesston.

They are about 30 miles north of I-80 and Davenport, Iowa right off Rt 61. John is the owner, 563-652-6701. My buddy restores lots of Allis tractors, knows John well.
