Any thoughts on a Dixon Speed ZTR 42" mower?? Good, bad, ugly?? There is one about 2 hours away for $1100. Looks good other than some scratches on edge of deck. Is it any good, what to watch out for?? Thanks, Chris

Hydro or the old cup and cone drive? Never been around the hydro, but if thats the price for the old cup and cone one, they need to drop the last 2 numbers from the price.

Haven't had experience with the newer ones, but mom had a mid 90's home duty Dixon that gave no trouble what so ever.

I think in 20 years I replaced the belts once, replaced the PTO switch, put flat free tires on the front, and replaced one rear tire, a few blades and batteries. Sold it with the house, still ran like new.

Very good machine!

I had a 42 inch ZTR from Dixon with the cone drive. It was a long time ago and it was a really good mower. I sold it at a auction for about half what I paid for it and I had mowed over 5 acres of lawn each week. It had plenty of hours on it. It was back to the dealer just for a check up after 4 years of use and got a clean bill of health. I would buy another one except dealer retired and no other one near me.

I have a Dixon with hydrostatic drive. It is a commercial model. Hard to fault it. Here they are about $8000 new. I bought it with 80 hours on the clock.
