Made it to 62 today. The load that l've carried ain't been light and yet still in amazingly good health and still able to work some of the kids at work into the ground. God is good. DP

Seems I share your birthday with but just a kid at 22 years younger I guess that is if you will let me share the day with you lol

Being able to work todays kids into the ground isn't saying much any more. We had a young guy quit after 30 minutes of breaking down cardboard boxes - said it was the hardest thing he ever did. All he had to do was pull off a strip of tape on the bottom, pull out the plastic bag and flatten the box. Top was already open and the box was empty. It was a box that had 40 lbs of apples so it wasn't even a large box. It would have been great to have gotten him a wagon behind a baler sometime when it was about 90 degrees an dust from the baler blowing back his way.

Well congrats on the 62 birthday! I will be there in August myself. Trying to figure out if I can semi retire and make ends meet with SS and a part time job. Its looking promising but we still have to take the facts and figures to the accountant and sit down.

Happy Birthday! I hit 62 back in October. Looking to retire later this year after the wife turns 62. We are fortunate to have had good jobs with an employer that still has a pension plan so we don't have to rely on our savings and 401k plans (at least not yet). With that and SS we figure we'll be OK. I always said I'd sit in a cold dark house rather than put up with to much BS at work. They are lately making it so I'll be glad to leave. Have more projects at home than I will have life left to do them anyway!

Happy Birthday, interesting to see all the YT folks born about the same time. I hit 62 later this year as well.

Congratulations! I'll be 73 in July but am still doing pretty good for my age. You need to keep up the hard work to stay healthy. I have a brother-in law who will be 85 in May and he still can work the tail off me even though he has been fighting cancer for 4 years. One tough guy with a never give up attitude.

Gosh you guys make me thing I am the old man here . 75 in May and still da a days work ever day. Good health is sure something to treasure. I have my share of aces and pains but do not slow down. I think when one quits then it is over.

You guys are just kids. I retired 15 years ago at 62, still haven't slowed down. I am having trouble waiting for better weather so I can get outside. Plan on getting onions in the garden soon , have a few jobs lined up for the Super E and the dump truck, going to change the inner and outer fenders on the snowplow truck, put siding on the gable ends of my garage, get the '38 Chevy ready for the car show season, plant two gardens, plan and host two family reunions and have about twenty picnics and cookouts. Then it will be harvest time and time to make sauerkraut. I can hardly wait!

Congrats on the Birthday !!
Only a couple of years ahead of you - Getting to be fewer kids I can out work tho. Sometimes I have to use the knowledge I have gained - Sometimes that don't work either !!!!

Mr Howell, Spent couple of nights in Sulphur Springs last Thursday and Friday , Things sure are green down you way. Actually saw corn out of the ground there around Canton. Hope all is well with you.

Well I am 12 years ahead of you and still working a job. Fellow workers ride me sometimes for still working, but the eight years I been there four of them have passed the age of 65 and still working.

WB, ditto. Turned 62 Oct. 30. Started drawing SS. That , along with construction
pension. All is fine. (Helps a lot when your house is paid off.) You'll be fine!

Hippy Bday only 15 years and a couple months ahead of you, not going to wait for you to catch up.
