I agree that it is a nice old card and relates to old literature, but Easter is the greatest day of the year when real Christians recognize and celebrate the resurrection of he who saved us who believe from the fiery pit.

Happy Easter. Looks like something that would have been on the box of a wind up Easter toy or something.

Early pagans in Europe celebrated the festival of Ester the goddess of fertility. Part of that were baby chickens and bunnies. When the early church Christianized the people, instead of doing away with their holidays, they repurposed them. Since the feast of Ester was arround the vernal equinox, they shifted it to Passover and keeping the name, commemorated the crucifixion and resurrection Of my LORD Jesus.
They did the same thing with the winter solstice. No one knows when Jesus was born. He could have been born in July, but it was decided to celebrate his birth and co-opt the Yule celebration.

I pretty well knew all that,I just wanted someone else to say it so I would not have to dodge the sticks and stones. Who needs Jesus anyhow when they have the Easter bunny,Santa, and the pope? Lol

These are the only Easter eggs I can find, about 5? of snow and still snowing here at Wilber, Nebraska! Alleluia he is risen and the snow keeps falling. Mother Nature pulled the big April Fools on us, good thing the kids did their egg hunting yesterday when the ground was clear and dry. There were guys out just yesterday day spreading dry fertilizer.
