At a local consignment sale there is a real nice set of MF 880 4x16 spring reset plows selling tomorrow. I would hate to see them go for scrape. They are weathered but show little wear. There was a MF dealer right here in town and I bet they where bought new there. Shot me an email if I can help you any. I know the auctioneer well.

I have two MF 880 ploughs a4 and a 5 furrow , both of mine have the hydraulic reset. I hope someone picks this plough up, they pull real nice, and can do a good job for very few bucks. I changed the shears and landslides on my 5 furrow, and the new parts cost more than I paid for the plough.

Those aren't spring reset, but what Massey called "toggle" trips. they work on the same principle as the locked breech on a Luger pistol. You still had to stop and pick them up to reset, but not usually back up. Very good system when compared to a box trip plow though.

The spring trip ones have 2 big coil springs like a White. I am running a set of those, with a set of hydraulic ones in the weeds for back up.

I have a plow like that. I bought it a few years ago at an auction for $50 as it seemed that no one wanted a trailer type plow. I really like it as you can pull it with any tractor that has hydraulic remotes. I loaned it to a novice farmer who lives nearby because he was having trouble using a 3 point hitch plow and he still has not returned it. If it was nearby I would be in the bidding game for it. Thanks for posting JD Seller!

Bought and 880 8x18 onland auto rest years back for 200 bucks that needed a 7.42 part and put it behind the Massey 1850 i bought for 4500 that needed three batterys and brake fluid . Used both to plow up my corn ground and one garden . That year what took me a week in the evenings with my 706 and 4x16 to do i did in one evening . But it was FUN listening to that 3208 talking LOUDLY . Then i used a 24 foot disc with a harrow to finish with and what took three passes with the 706 and my 370 Disc it took one pass . Probably should have kept them BUT i made money on them So they were GONE .

Bought a 5x16 spring reset 880 2 falls ago for $125. Wasn?t in the market for one, but hooked it up and it plows better than than our other ones, so we kept it.
