Gehl SP188 Forage Harvester

We have a Gehl SP188 Forage harvester with a TR333 head. It is open station and has a Detroit engine that will run. It has been shedded the last 35 years. Is any of this useable to anyone or should we just take it to a scrap yard?

Wish it was closer or that I was not as busy as that would be nice to open fields up with. I used to have a Super D Fox but it would not feed in big corn. Tom

It is a GM 4-71 motor.

The only SP-188 I ever saw had a big Waukesha gas motor (as I recall).

those are from a long ago era.

it would be cool if someone would restore it an show it. I'm not in that position.

just looked at some pictures of one. that would have been miserable to run. Detroit screaming behind you and chopper unit screaming in front of you with the dust and all too.
