Hey Brown Swiss,

I was wondering if you knew the equipment being sold at the North Andover bar two Saturdays from now. I hope it isn't yours, but I know you were talking of selling your share of the dairy to your brother on here. IIRC, you have Massey tractors, so I don't think so...

Anyway, the auctioneer must not have thought that they needed good information on the tractors, like type of transmission, or even pictures of inside the cabs. They also didn't bother to give a number to call for info on them. I'm thinking about trying for either 4020 and was wondering if you happened to know if they were powershift or synchro, and also their general condition.

I don't have any info on the tractors! Only number I see to call is the auctioneer. Them Adams boys are still learning how to conduct sales, good fellows any who. I might
have to go to the sale, I have that weekend off, well I am milking for my brother that weekend so he can go to Milwaukee for his sister in laws wedding reception.

Transmission type is the most basic of information. Some guys would skip the sale completely if they're power shift, or they might be more likely to attend of they're synchro-range. It only takes a "SR" or "PS" to give that info.

I talked with the owner after calling the auctioneer. Seems like they might be worth going after. Any guesses on what they'll bring? NF owned since early 70's. WF owned since early 90's. Both PS. He didn't know offhand the tire sizes, but said the rubber was 2yrs old on the NF ( think they're 38s, and 34s on the WF. He said there's NO DiffLock!!!! I have a number in my head already, but just curious what others think. If I buy one, that cab will be off pretty fast.

Diff Lock was optional. My dad's 66 doesn't have it. I kinda got the impression that the owner wasn't quite following me when I asked, so it's up in the air whether they have it or not. If they don't have it, it should hurt their value as far as being working tractors, but not as collectors.
