Haven't seen ya post since the other day. Hope the
heated discussion didn't scare you off Buddy. We all
say things sometimes that make others upset or
can sometimes easily be taken the wrong way and
sometimes we get flack for it and sometimes it
hurts. I know your a good fella,I hope my comment
didn't have a part in you being quiet and I'm sorry if
it did. Squabbles just make us all tougher and better
friends sometimes. How's the weather there today?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing... hasn't seen him around much at all lately either.
My guess he's pretty thick skinned and out working.

I'm in Ottawa right now. Still pretty cold and frozen here for me, I left home on Vancouver island Monday in my Tee shirt. I'm glad I brought my jacket.
I'm supposed to fly out to Moncton tonight, but Meeting was canceled so I changed flights and I'm heading home.

Might hit the maritimes this summer.

Looks like you brought the warm weather back to the area. +6 now today.

Hey Philip, been away at the spring policy conference for Dairy Farmers of Ontario for the last three days. Getting the down low on our over production on milk, and trying to decide what to do to avoid quota cuts in the P5. And had the opportunity to participate in a rucks debate about under production credits, and the potential to create a leasing program, for farmers that are 30 days under production to lease their credits to farmers that are in a over production position. Much the same as in Nova Scotia. Do you have such a program in PEI ?
You?re correct, my skin is think enough to take a few barbs, lol. If you speak your thoughts in a free and open forum, even with due respect, it can rub a few feathers the wrong way. And if that happens, harsh words are bound to be directed back at you. I was raised a for give and for get Christian, and taught that it takes more effort to hold a grudge, than to let things go. No harm done , I have just been away for three days. Bruce

Great to hear! There's been a leasing program here for quite a few years now and it works really well. You can lease in or out regardless of your days of production. I hear talk around Adl tables butter stocks are building at an alarming rate. I don't know how the protein sales are bud maybe they should consider lowering the snf ratio limit to prevent everyone from trying to increase fat. Likely would lower feed costs a bit for users of palmitic fat oil. So long as we don't see drastic sudden cuts it's probably just as well that dairy growth takes a breather. I've been told if all available quota was being filled there's not enough processing capacity to process all of it anyways. There's 2 plants on hold for construction because of nafta negotiations. If those 2 end up being build north of 49 there will be enough capacity for current allocated quota but not before then.

Two plants are on schedule to start taking milkin 9 months, and this will be more capacity than enough to process all milk that could come forward with current quota issued, and still have room for growth. This is just a short term problem , and really not a unmanageable problem farmers can?t solve by just slowing current out put a little. It is all about market discipline. And yes butter stocks are replenished. Our blen price is down some and will most likely stay down until world price increases, as about 30% of our milk sells at world price, and the new plants will be processing many products at world price, putting farther pressure in our blend price. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but seems this is the way things are going, the whole world is a wash in milk.

Ya I heard that part of it too lol. It's not all sunshine and rainbows but at least most producers are managing to stay a float.

It was beautiful there this afternoon when I left.
My cab dinged another car on the way to the airport
and caused a bit of a ruckus.... some of the craziest
cabbies, beat up cabs and rough roads I've seen for
a while.

Just landed back in Vancouver and got an early
flight back to Nanaimo. It's about 7 degrees C here
and overcast. Not too bad.
