YT'ers You've Met

Takin' a trip down memory lane here. I hope I don't miss anyone. Going to try to do this in chronological order.

"730virgil" Pretty sure I was still in high school or maybe just out of. He sold me a 1968 IH pickup that I still have, and a bumper-pull car trailer that my parents have. Been to his place a couple times. Really need to stop in again on a trip back to Illinois.

"uh-oh" Got to be good buddies with this guy but I don't think he posts here anymore. Drove down to Missouri on a whim to hang out for the weekend.

"old" Met the famous old at his place when I was in Missouri visiting "uh-oh." Don't know if he remembers or not.

"Dave from MN" Stopped at Dave's place when I was making my move to Minnesota. Had almost all of my worldly possessions in my S-10 and boat when I met him. Visited a few times and most recently saw him last summer when we stopped in with my wife and kids.

"paul" Swung through New Ulm when my wife and I were on our honeymoon. Yes, that's right. Met tractor buddy while on honeymoon. Visited the Schell's brewery and drove out to Paul's farm. Got a crop and cow tour and had a nice visit with him and his bride. They treated us to pizza in town. Happy Joe's was it?

"oldtanker" Was driving down to buy some tractor tire chains not too far from him so I was able to stop in. Had a great visit and his son made some really good ham bean stew stuff.

"Russ from MN" Met Russ last summer at Lake Itasca Pioneer Days. Didn't get to visit much and I regret that, but I'll make it up to him one day. I make it over to his town quite often for family stuff. Need to make time.

I hope I didn't forget anyone! I am sorry if I did.

This is a great community. Who-all have you folks met? Some of you Michigan and Illinoiz guys have a long list!

If I remember right one of yo u2 got a Cletrac OC-3 from me and that was the reason he came down here.

I've probably met 10-15 people form Y-T and could not begin to name them all.

I am just thinking out loud to myself here, but I do not know how many I have met personally. I know it is less than 10. I have talked to quite a few by phone though. I have really enjoyed the phone conversations with all of them, especially when everyone is spread out all over the YT world. Everyone has always been extremely friendly and helpful if I have had a problem that needed to be reolved. So I say THANK YOU to all that I have talked with.

kruser has the central il yt roundup and met a lot of guys there, also met geneMo, armand tatro, and brad buchannan. also larryneil(may he rest in peace).

It was a neat little crawler but like most it did not really have the HP to really do much with the loader that was on it.

A number of people who have stopped in I believe have died due to old age but as I said I cannot remember then all by name or handle
I know Gray Wolfe, and Kruser have both been here

Ya,that is a long list. The Michigan list is huge. A lot more than are in the pictures. I run in to them everywhere. Along with JMS/MN,JonF,we stop in and see Lee Little whenever we're in Tennessee. That's him and me at the flea market in one of the second to the last picture. JonF and me in the last one. RayP,Everett and me in the first one.
I've met several other folks along the 127 Yard Sale, names I don't even remember.

I've met YT'ers all over the country, no way I can remember all their names, but when they post I usually remember the visit. I counted once that I had met YT'ers in over 20 states with multiple people in many states.

I met three. None were what I call planned meetings. One here in northern Michigan who operates a small engine and power equipment business. Another who replied to my mentioning here my need for a trucker to move stuff from NY to MI. He gave me a great deal with his semi and 50 foot step-deck trailer. I forgot his name. He gave me a great deal. Also have met Mr. Oliver many times in central New York in the area of Otsego and Delaware Counties.

The guy who trucked my stuff also works at the Mackinac Bridge crossing to shuttle old tractors. Anybody know him? Here he is.

$1500 for a 800 mile move was one heck of a deal as I see it. He said he always wanted to meet me. Not sure if he changed his mind after he did.

I met only one and he no longer lurks here I think his handle was stumpy nh I have run into him several times at old engine shows he seems to be a great guy. He has a war time 2n he shows and was showing my wife how to crank start it last summer.

Last 2 years about a dozen of us had coffee and donuts at the Feb. Florida Flywheelers. I don't remember all the names but Kruser and his lovely wife were there last year, greenmech, poor homeless John T, TWheat, ,Floldford, to name a few, and thanks to Grant and Evelyn with Chapter 27 of the IHC bunch for the coffee and donuts

In-to-deep, Here's a picture of a few of us at a local tractor show. From the left Formally NY Bill, Dave from Sherburne, Dave's relative, ACG "Loren", his son Scott and me. I'm 6' 4" and feel short next to Loren and Scott! 2nd pick Old Scovy far right and his Australian tractor collecting friends last year at the Roseboom NY tractor show. I've met JDEM at an auction last time and SMS at the same tractor show. Part Time Pete has relatives nearby and stopped for a tractor part. This site reminds me of my neighborhood you could stop in and usually someone was tinkering on something or thinking about buying something!

I met up with GreenMech (Ron) in MN, Old at his place, and I think might have been Kruser at Lake of Ozarks several years ago.

Hope so. The coffee's on and so's the bluegrass. I wish I could name all the guys I've met right here in Michigan, but if I even try,I'll forget about half and feel bad about it. Hard to go to an auction or any other event without bumping in to somebody. They'll have to chime in if they've met me I guess. LOL

Frank Whitehead stopped in from GA to see us when he was in Hershey PA to visit his daughter

Robin Hood from PA Stopped in to see us

Jim G has stopped by many times and we went to auctions together,,he put my tractor back together for me

I met Daryl from PA at a tractor show in Berks county PA

Your family and Kruser's family where both staying at Tan-Tara at the same time when you stopped in to see me. He also stopped in around the same time as you did

I think I only met my neighbors(just down the road and round the corner, literally)...jim grimm and mattposvic(I think matt made only one post...but then he maybe hijacks jims, since they work the same farm)

I had time one day and took a ride to see if Hoofer B was around his shop...he wasn't, had one of his guys call him up, he was on the road with a rig someplace.

Speaking of bluegrass, check out Ginstrings. The lead singer/dobro/banjo is from a nearby town. The rest from St.Paul/Mpls. Saw them at our little town theater last month.

Several, start with closest. 16-30 Oil Pull friend and tractor club member times 2, meeting at his place tomorrow, Gene Dotson, Buckeye All, anouther tractor club member, R. Aikin, all within 25 mile of me. Cris that his dad was my Ford tractor repairman. Then someone from eastern Ohio that I cannot remember his name but went to his place to see a manure loader like my Grandpa had. Then Harvey2 and of course Jon F from minnesota.

I"ve met some- visited rrlund at his farm in MI last June, and met jon f at Nelson"s truck stop in Clearwater. Really nice visits with both. Almost stopped at old"s a few years ago...was headed down the interstate (I44?) but hadn"t called ahead first. Maybe some day. Oh yeah, met DB4600 at the Forest City (MN) show last summer. Also someone who used to post years ago...MSJ/MN...at the Albany show. He was from north of metro. Both at the sawmills at each show! duh! Sorry about that, paul. I figured out where he lived by his describing his place a bit on here, and me having gone down that road a few times. Stopped in unexpectedly one day, ID"d myself, and we had a really nice visit. Also M Nut- bought a tractor and trailer from him years ago. And Ultradog- he came by at least 10 years ago. Another Special Forces veteran from near Rochester, DG Hoefner. Haven"t seen him post recently.

Greg, we have a Case gathering over in Washington and Saratoga county Friday March 30th. Meeting at Scaticoke Fair grounds about 9:00am and making several stops, at farms, machine shops, and Case enthusiasts, plus lunch at a local dinner and more stops during afternoon.
We sure would enjoy your company if you can get the day off.
Loren

Steve from Middlesex County dropped by one day, met a couple of guys from the Oliver club here on plow day, did not meet but pretty sure I saw b&d on stage (hi Sid!) and missed Bruce from Can by minutes at this year's plowing match....hope he will still post some Jersey and of pie pictures....🙄

Ben

Thanks Loren! Sure would be fun to do something besides work on the plow trucks at work! Just got done swapping steering boxes from the parts truck to mine. Way to much fun!

Met Old at his place 10-8 years ago and 1206 SWMO 2 years ago at his place. There is couple that are no more than 20 miles from me. One of them lives mile or so South of place baled hay on 20 -25 years ago.

Thanks for the pictures of all you " Talers "It is interesting to see what all you fine fellows look like.
I have not met any of you , but feel like I know you a little by reading on here daily.
I would like to meet some 'talers' but living in central OK. makes it hard to get to your area.
Antique tractor collectors are not very plentifull around here where I live. clint

Let see The guys at Fowlerville a couple times. JDEM once, and know Rowcrop. Rowcrop and I used to be in the same tractor club.
Jim wilkinson is my neighbor around the corner from me. All are good guys.
And JD I just don't get to stop over on that side of the state much. I did enjoy the visit and hauling that load. Kind of like putting a puzzle together in real life.
