My youtube buddy Deeredon has a new video of his 4020 at work blowing snow earlier this week on a nice sunny day. There might be nicer restored 4020s out there but I haven't seen them.

I'd imagine any snow blower would do a good job turning a dog or cat or small child into Chinese food

That is a new term to me. They do have a shear pin. Frozen lumps of cow manure will shear a pin if they catch in the auger or fan.
