Obsolete truck rim where to find

So my 1965 Ford 1 ton uses an obsolete rim. There a hole rim 16 inch split rim. The lug stud hole is large compared to most rim. Years ago I had one set of rims work loose and destroyed the 2 rims. While I can use it as is having duals on the back sure would help since I cannot load it as heavy with singles on back. I would of course prefer to find rims that are not split rim. These rims are 16 inch by the way

Seems a lot of military rims match up with the old trucks.

How many stud holes?

Often there is a radial rim that is newer and matches up.

I have found a lot of folks are selling older truck tires on eBay and Craigslist, and just junk put the rims, don't realize there is any demand for them. I tracked down (6) rims and tires to fit my F600 grain truck by scanning many photos on CL and seeing the rim pattern I needed. Fella was surprised I cared about the rims.

Gotta get some measurements.

I just noticed that when I tried to hit the 6 key as for how many lugs it did not put it on the page. Rims are 6 hole and the studs and nuts hold then centered

6 lug as for how wide not sure. The rims I have use a full circle snap ring. Would prefer to get rid of that type but if that is all I can find I can get by. Where you at and how much e-mail is always open I hate talking $$ on the site

It was not uncommon to hear of broken wheel bolts and damaged wheels on those Ford one tons. Farmers here would put a big grain box on and load them way heavier than the truck was ever meant to carry. Dual 7.50x16s as I recall.

Do a search for D&S Tires, our local one can cut out the center of the rim and weld it to a new rim. Computer operated to align center to the rim. Maybe work for you. They have done truck and loader wheels for us.

The problem is the center where the lug nuts tighten down are wore in such a way the wheel flops around. The rim part is good other then being a split rim. Lug nuts got loose and it was loaded so now the rims are junk due to bad lug stud holes

Just one set of lug nuts that hold both rims on. Rims are such that if you do not mount them correctly they will loosen up and then whollow out the stud holes

If you have older trucks sitting around or in salvage yards, some of the older IH and Dodge trucks used that bolt pattern too, I think it used to be referred to as the "big 6 pattern"

In my area any thing this old has long since been shipped to China as scrape iron. Your lucky if you can find parts for a car or truck that is 10 years old used in this area

You might try looking at a place called Hey Wheel in Baldwin Ks. They have a website but I'd also call them up. They have just about every rim imaginable laying around. They can also make about anything you can need. I've had good luck with them.

Will you sell a pair of them?? Also where are you I know they are not light so shipping could be a problems. Are they tubeless or split rim??

(quoted from post at 20:27:25 03/06/18) Yes that is what I am looking for. Lug stud hole is big enough to put your thumb in
A friend of mine had a 57. It might have been 5 lug. He found some one piece rims at the wrecking yard. I think they were 17.5. Seems like motor homes had them. I still have his old rims. I will take a look but I'm to far from you to do much good. Also the 5 ton trucks had 5 and 6 hole. Probably 20 in rim. Do you have room for that big of a tire?

No way a 20 inch rim would fit plus the 300 straight 6 would not have the power either. Years ago I had to rebuild the rear end because my dad destroyed the old one and the old one was 5.73 gears and what is in it now if 411. Been thinking that maybe I could find some front hubs that are 8 hole and leave the rear 6 hole. I have a bunch of 8 hole rims laying around

I know which ones you need, some of them had a pilot hole so they would only go on one way. The only wheels I can think of were 16.5 and I would rather have the split rims.

These are 16 inch. And yes they had a pilot pin so one could not put them on wrong but on this truck on one of them the pilot pin is broken and I did not notice that. As for split rim these use the full circle ring so they are harder to take off and also more likely to fly when you air them up

Old,
Are you looking to replace all six with "modern rims"?
Or just one or just one pair?

6 on 7-1/4 aka the big 6 pattern was used on older dodge and IH light line trucks prior to 1969.

Also on Kaiser Deuce and a halfs, but bigger diameter tires.

Also on some early motorhomes from the 60's into the 80's but also bigger tires.

There are a few racing rim builders that can make what you want but they will cost you around $200 each.

These the 6 bolt 16 inch rims. There the split rims with a full circle ring which I hate but can live with. I just need a pair so I can have duals again on the back
