Had a small horse fence to install yesterday and the homeowners wanted me to drag some poo away from the " barn". Lucky it didn't stink, must have been old. Sure was slinging off the tires. Cool little bridge, they claim a tri-axle dump truck full of gravel made it across last year!

I would think so. But creek floods and homeowners wanted bottom rain high to let debris flow under

mrs. love did a very nice job on the fencing granpa! looks really good.. a question, how do you like your box scraper? iv'e always wanted to buy one but I never see them come up for sale used online or in the paper? at auctions they go for new price!! I have one specific job I want to do with it, our county road here through our subdivision is full of wash board year round, rattles the teeth right out of your head just crawling along, we used to work washboard during or just after it rained wet by scarifying or ripping the washboard about 2 or 3" deep with the sarifyer on the grader and then blade it and pack it. iv'e talked to the grader operaters here but they just straight blade it (usually dry) and the washboard is back the next day just as bad or worse! I think a box scraper with the ripper shanks in it would do a good job getting rid of the washboard, oh well i'll keep looking.

Carvel, after watching the auctions for years,I finally bought a 6' box scraper from TSC. Like you said, the old used ones go for new price.glad I went new.Cost was less than $600.I love it.Should have bought the new one right from the start. It will cut and 'grade' where a regular blade will just bounce. The dirt it carries works well for filling holes. On my long hard rough driveway, the box with the scrapers was the only thing that worked.raise the teeth when not needed.I now grade the drive on a regular baisis now.I highly recommend them.

thank you delta red that's exactly what i'm going to do :D I have been putting up with this damn washboard for over 20 years pounding the crap out of my vehicles, looking online(none there) the paper (none there) at auctions new price or even higher!! anybody that has one tells me the same as you did "they love it, NO it's not for sale" I might as well bite the bullet and go buy one new and be done with it. red who makes a good one what brands to look for and which ones to avoid?

Don't know "good or bad". But I'm well pleased with mine. It's from TSC,their 'store brand'.It is strong enough to stop a JD 'A' if you take too big a bite. Each tooth is held up by a pin that is easy to adjust. One benefit from a new one,the cutting edges are sharp.A used one will most likely need some work.Owned mine about 3 years now.Look around and compare.

Another word. The first time, put the tractor in low gear, slow engine speed.Adjust teeth and top link as needed.I still only use no more than second gear. Slower is better.

I would have had a tough time to get a loaded triaxle that I was driving to cross that bridge, LOL. I can see that it is on steel beams and concrete supports, but the planks are rotten and if one of the supports starts to sink or tip it would be all over very quickly.

first I have to apologize to Granpalove for hijacking his thread here! but his pic got me back to thinking of my plan to get rid of this washboard  delta red question for you when you've got the teeth down ripping up rough road or washboard how do you have the top link set? with the box level? or tilted forward or back? and I will be in 1st, low range, low. and about half throttle.

Love the box blade. Can't comment
on price ,that was a freebie!
Seriously most used ones are used
up and cost almost new price.

I like the walk through. I have them all around the farm. I have had knee issues in the past where climbing gates just hurts. LOL I have only had one calf follow me out in all the years I have had them. LOL

You do good Work. I am amazed that you can keep busy doing those type of things. There just are not enough people around here for it to work.

a freebie! I got to start traveling with you granpa  the 2 used ones I went to look at where bent up, the cutting edge worn right down into the box frame, they still wanted $700.00 or more for them. up here just checking some web sites and new ones go from $850. to $1500. for a 6ft. one with 5 shanks. as you and delta red have said I might as well buy a new one for the couple of hundred more then I know what iv'e got.

(quoted from post at 08:21:50 03/04/18) I like the way you built the entry walk thru. Save them a lot of time. Good looking work.

I was just going to say the same thing. I like the walk through.
