Has anyone heard of this...a Senator Roto tiller? Must be old but I came across one...engine works fine but wouldn't turn the tillers...pulled engine and there is a centrifugal lined clutch disc between the motor and driveshaft...I need one. As for my last post-"Lawn mower mechanic"...I have a camshaft coming. Thanks for the help!

Teaching small engines classes and seeing the (less than robust) compression release gave me the clue. Jim

Yea, I have one. I wish you'd post a picture of it because that is the very part I am missing! I didn't know it was supposed to be centrifugal. Does the gearbox turn by hand, like , are you certain it's the clutch?

This is the "lined clutch", tapered that runs on a tapered hub; I thought this was bad- maybe not. All the gear drive looks good. Thanks

I used to do contract repair work for Sears and they sold a rotor tiller that used a vertical shaft engine with a clutch set up like that. Tapered cone type of clutch with lining inside the female part. Worked good ,but sometimes the lining would separate from the metal which it was bonded to. Gene Davis Tennille, Ga.
