IH 414 What oil

What is a decent oil to use in my IH 414 I just purchased..Thinking Rotella t4deisel..The tractor is desel..

55 year old tractor , I venture to say that is a lot better than it has seen it its day. New oils are so much better ,but yes the rotella will be fine in the tractor.

Is it necessary to add zink to that oil

That is a hot topic on here , ONE man,s opinion I say no but there is some that swear by it ,doubt that you will ever run it long enough to have engine problems if it is in good shape now.

Rotella T4 15W-40 still has a high level of ZDDP.

Many former service techs on RPM forum insist that CIH #1 straight 30 weight is best.
