OF TIRES-8 X 32. H John Deere--My first tractor-bought it for $30 from a guy that rode to Deere in Waterloo with my Dad when I was a junior in high school. Made from 1939 to 1947-made 58,584--$650 -14 hp. on the belt-12 on the drawbar. Supposed to take the farmer from horse power to tractor power!---Tee

Nice tractor. I had two of those at one time. I put a 60 inch finish mower on one of them. The H didn't really have enough power for a mower that big. If the grass got over a couple of inches tall, it didn't have enough power to pull it. I sold both of them for far less than one goes for today. I wish I had kept one for parades.

Probably about 30 years ago..give or take..my great uncle had an "H" on his auction sale. The next door neighbor was driving it a couple of miles from the farm to the auction site and a state trooper pulled him over on the way into town. This was on a road that was seldom used. The trooper told him that he needed a SMV sign the back of the tractor, as that was the law. Then the trooper admitted to the driver that he pulled him over just because he knew that tractor was an "H", the trooper said he grew up on a farm where they used an "H", and he just had to get a better look at it. The trooper walked around the tractor a couple of times and told the driver that he was free to go.
