Early last fall at a yard sale I bought a set of Craftsman 'combination' end wrenches,6 point . But the 11/16 was missing. I found that Craftsman no longer offers 6 point wrenches.Just this morning I was looking in my toolbox and thinking that I'd sure like to find that 11/16 wrench.About lunchtime I stopped at a yardsale.And there it was! Praise god the wrench I 'needed' was there,priced at a dollar!You know what happened next....It is now in it's place with the rest. It just made my day. :)
 
That is why I shop at the flea market all the time for tools. Might need to go several weekends, but sooner or later something pops up. Amazing what shows up. Nice you made a set.
 
That is a good feeling when you find something that way!

I do most of my garage sale shopping on Ebay, but still nice to see something that can't be bought new anymore.

A long time ago I bought an old F450 flatbed truck to flip. It was really low mileage, but had been beat to death by careless operators.

One of the plastic grill inserts was broken, a new one was ridiculous. This was pre internet, so the search for a used one was one phone call at a time... No luck.

I had about given up, was going to try expanded metal or just take the other one out.

Going home from work one evening I stopped at a convenience store, went out the back road so I didn't have to cross a busy street at rush hour, made a couple turns, and there was a big pile of trash where someone had cleaned out the garage.

I did a double take, there was the end of a grill sticking out! Almost didn't stop, probably wrong, probably broken...

But I stopped, pulled it out. It was exactly what I needed, perfect condition!
