boom pole

Made a couple of boom poles. Tested the pole and hydraulic system. Both worked.

important safety point. be sure the top of a door opening is higher than the top of a boom pole. a quick wheelie followed by some repairs to both the top of the door and the ceiling of the shed will follow. dont ask me how i know.
 
And just because your head clears those electric fence lines that go up-and-over the gates doesn't mean the boom pole will! Skidded a lot of logs with a boom pole on the back of our JD 2240, and later the JD 5400 and learned in a hurry to keep an eye on that.
 
You can die on one of those. just a few more degrees and the amount of force that you can exert on the clutch is greatly diminished.
 
Good display of physics, using leverage to your advantage. The longer the leverage, the greater the force applied.
