Stover hit and miss

Sorry it's not a tractor but I may make it into a tractor. I would've put it on the stationary engine forum but I figured I would receive faster replies here. Any idea on the value of this engine? I have not physically seen it so I can't tell you much.

I found one of those at a business liquidation a few year ago. Guy wanted a small fortune for it and it was not in much better shape than that one. I looked it up at the time. Cannot tell you exactly but it was not worth a lot.

Guessing it don?t run by the looks of the external piston. Parts
engine should be worth $200 max from what I?ve seen. Saw a
running one sell for $425 not that long ago. That engine
wasn?t restored.

Complete running JDs 1 1/2 hp going for 600-700 if your lucky, puts the stover at an entry level value.

Thank you guys. I am new to hit and miss. I noticed this one has a spark plug. I think I will stir away or make a low offer.

Was somebody driving their hotwheels in the fresh concrete? From the shadowing it's tough to tell if it's a headless. Running $300.00 and go down from there.

Hi, I have one. It's not running but it is all there. It
used to pump water from a well for cattle on my
uncles farm in Saskatoon area. Ed Will Oliver BC

I got a nephew that rebuilds those things, hauls them to shows, runs a wash machine, corn Sheller, some kind of grinder, a saw you drop over a log and let her run, pumps water and probably more stuff. He must have a dozen motors plus a line shaft, one engine he thinks is one of five in existence. He even has a fall show at his place the last couple of years although I haven't made it yet.

Thanks guys for the comments. I know a little more what I'm looking at. I'm wanting to build something like this to putt around on.

Depends if the mag is good or not. Engine without the mag value might be $50, With the mag working maybe $250 to part out. Otherwise I
would not touch it. Cost way more to get it together and running than it would be worth.
