opened up the box to check out the new manifold for my mm m-5 tractor prior to install and look what I found! will be chatting with stiener tomorrow.
this one is a gas tractor shaun, with the one piece, your correct on the diesel and lp having 2 piece.(quoted from post at 19:54:38 02/25/18) I thought they had 2 piece manifold or is that just the LPs. I know diesels are because have 2 of them.
I believe your right RBoots, and that's one of the reasons I got started on this project 3 months before I really need it. murphys law you know  I think that S.O.B. lives at my place! hopefully won't be to big of a hassle, will call stiener tomorrow am.(quoted from post at 19:55:19 02/25/18) That sucks, someone was probably playing
kickball with your manifold on its way
there
oh i'm sure that will be coming tom, problem is it was shipped in a larger box with 2 other continental manifolds, no sign of shipping damage on the big box, just the hole you see in the box this manifold was in.(quoted from post at 19:58:14 02/25/18) I can almost hear their response from here, "Never had that happen before!! Are you sure you didn't drop it"? gobble
I never had any luck doing that Eldon, got time to do the ship back and forth.(quoted from post at 19:59:42 02/25/18)
Weld er up!
me either stan, the funny part was this manifold was in a bigger box with 2 continental manifolds that where sitting in poured foam, and no sign of damage on the big box??(quoted from post at 20:02:33 02/25/18) Looks like a fairly easy repair. Maybe they will send you a refund, and let you keep the manifold. I can't imagine someone just putting it in a card board box, and thinking it will be fine. Stan
hopefully it doesn't come to that, but worst comes to worst will try and have it repaired.(quoted from post at 20:04:57 02/25/18) I can ceartainly understand being upset about that.
Years ago I bought a manifold for my Farmall H on eBay that
the seller advertised as broke in just that same way. I got it for
a deep discount. I just mounted the carb with the bolt hooked
over the remains of the broken ear. Worked fine for years and
years, until I sold the tractor.
 I hope I don't have to copperhead, will se what stiener says in the morning.(quoted from post at 20:11:24 02/25/18) I ran one like that for years, because i'm frugal; I meant cheap.
PJH. this came in a big box with 2 other continental manifolds sitting in poured foam, this box was standing beside those 2 just like you see it with the hole in it?? no sign of damage on the big shipping box??(quoted from post at 20:17:00 02/25/18) Was it loose in the box with no packing? I've bought manifolds from them before, and they always have a big thick foam pad molded around them before they're put in the box.
Probably was broke long before they shipped it from India or China.(quoted from post at 20:43:17 02/25/18) if the carrier doesn't package the item they are not responsible for damage during
shipping.
I don't know bumblebee, I have a ups account and will give them a call tomorrow.(quoted from post at 21:09:37 02/25/18) was it insured, check to see. I was told once the USPS has insurance on items with no charge up to a certain amount.
just dawned on me USPS us postal service! I think it was picked up at stieners by ups united parcel, and shipped via them? but i'm not a 100% sure.(quoted from post at 21:15:46 02/25/18) Must have been on a USPS truck at one point
