Fog And Frost

Finally a heavy fog and some frost on the trees this morning. Should mean rain for the last week in May which would be good timing. We have had very little fog and frost this winter. Just cold and little snow. I took these shots (and some video) this morning feeding cattle with the Massey. 5F. Nice weather.

I thought it was a well known saying/myth/old wives tale. 90 to 100 days after a heavy fog or frost on the trees it will rain, or snow, depending on the time of year. I won't say its a hundred percent adequate but looking back to last winter. We only had one memorable day of heavy fog and frost. And it turned out to be a very dry summer. Coincidence?

My neighbor swears by the 100 days after fog theory but last year it sure didn't work. We had fog all spring and couldn't buy rain all summer. I guess that's why they call it an old wives tale. When it's right, we hear about it, and when it's wrong we don't say anything. Just sayin. ;-)
