Trying to identify a seat I found

I purchased this seat frame. although it looks rough its really not bad (almost rust free). I am trying to identify it in hopes of seeing what it is supposed to look like so I can restore it. I am assuming it should have a leather seat cover that is suspended with a forward tang that clips in the slot on the front. As I am not a tractor specialist and it looks tractor to me I thought "go to the professionals". Any ideas?

looks like it had springs running from the holes in back to center cutout in the front then covered in padded leather?

Could this be military, like a gunners or aimers saddle? Any thoughts from the military guys? unc

Possibly a vintage motorcycle seat ...... just a wild guess. Spring looks pretty heavy though, more tractor-size although
leather and tractors don't mix too much with being outside so much. Some of those vintage bikers can get pretty heavy !!!

(quoted from post at 15:09:29 02/21/18) SO the supports going back to the rear of seat appear to be cast iron.
With an "AR" ? logo cast into them?

Maybe Advance-Rumely ?
no cast iron on it at all. everything has been cut (or punched out) and bent plate steel.
