Jd 270 skid steer??

Are they any good bought a 99 with 3900 hours and have had absolutely nothing but troubles do I cut my losses or tough it out
New parking brake resealed drive motor new seal on pump and two hoses in two months

They are a pretty rugged machine but you bought a first year of production one and it has 3900 hours on it. The early ones had more issues. When they moved the production to the Dubuque plant, from down south, there was a lot of stuff changed. An example is the majority of the hydraulic pumping was changed. The early ones had issues with hoses rubbing and then being hard to replace. The later ones they used elbow fittings so the hoses installed straight on rather than at angles.

If you like how it operates you may be over the hump on repairs. You could also be on the up hill side of the repair ramp too.

Word of advice to anyone looking at skid steer loaders. There machines are run wide open 90% of the time and get the HECK beat out of them on a regular basis. I would never consider buying one with over 2000-2500 hours on it. Too much risk of getting a wore out machine.
