Looking at maybe purchasing a new L3301 to keep 40 or so acres cut and keep a smaller pecan stand cleaned up. Just wondering if anyone has the same tractor and are you pleased with it. Thanks for your opinions.

The new ones have exhaust system that clogs up when you idle too much. It's no big deal when you get used to it. There is a simple fix that lets tractor fix the problem. It's the new tier 3 or 4 ? emission controls. Again, don't let that change your mind. I like mine !!

I have one that I bought in 2015. I got the R 4 tires and I would suggest if you have snow or soft ground get ag tires. The tractor has been trouble free so far. The reg system on it works lawless so far. Most times you do not even know when it is ren. I have over 400 hours on it. One thing I was not clear on and the dealer kinda slipped it in,the tractor has a 2 stage clutch which is what they call live PTO on this model. The L 3901 from my understanding is a full live PTO. Check on line for rebates when I bough mine I got almost 6000 dollars on rebates. I use mine for upkeep on 40 acres and brush hog with it using 5 foot brushhog nd I have a 65 inch tiller which I use on food plots. The loader gets used all the time and I have the quick attach on it so it takes a min to change to forks. The rear are loaded with beet juice but without weight on the rear the rear is still light. I got the shuttle shift because I wanted all the HP I could get on the PTO and it fit my use better than a hydro

Pete go on and get the Hydrostat , lots of difference in what the tractor will do and you will enjoy the transmission only 1.5 hp difference in pto of the gear vs the hydr. Have sold may of them and they are giving good service.

Mandatory...

Quick attach loader bucket
Adjustable rear lower lift arms.
4X4

Nice

ag tires
Hydrostatic transmission
Tilt steering column

Over the top $$$$

3RD function for loader accessories (Grapple)
Rear hydraulic Top and Tilt kit
Rear remotes

If I had it to do over again I would have got the top of the line model (Grand L) that has a GOOD SEAT not the standard bota garbage seat, Tilt steering column, adjustable lower lift arms. After I got over the shock I should have walked right past that compact tractor and moved up to a unity tractor in the 60 HP range.

I brought hydrostatic it can not be beat for loader work, grading and mowing (my main use for the bota). I tried to plow with it the hydro drive sucks up all the power a ford 8N will kick its arse plowing and using a disc.... I keep a couple old Fords to do that work...BTW L4600 4X4 brought as a plain Jane, has a tier 4 emissions label with no water Mellon under the hood to regen...

The Hydraulic Shuttle Shift (HSD Models) and Glide Shift Transmission (GST Models) are nice (light years ahead of a standard shift trans. I should have got a Grand L GST it would have meet all my needs..

All in said and done I enjoy it... 12 more payments and its all mine ( I may just get that MX I have had my eye on). I have used the insurance on a fudge up it was no problem at all. The problem I have is my dealer is just swamped all the time and understaffed... It takes forever to get anything done under warranty are a insurance job. He is splitting up his rental and other enterprises from his tractor operation I think he will improve on his turn around time... I do all his AC work they don't care what it cost FIX IT so I play along and don't beach...

Bota's hold there value

Great little tractor and usually trouble free.

Be advised that the gear drive model is synchronized in third and fourth only. The hydrostat is much more versatile but the hydro pedal and brake pedals are on the same (right) side precluding use of the turning brakes when needed.

Easy to find very low hour used models.

I have had a L3400 since 2009. Not a single problem. HST is much better than the gear transmission on my old IH. Finding a good deal on a used one was hard for me, machines with 1000 hours on them were priced within a couple grand of new?

I'd had my L3010 HSD with loader and R4 tires for over 2 years with no problems. Bush hog, flail mower and tiller for 20 acres. Hydro is great for tilling and loader work but not for plowing. As Hobo mentioned, my old Jubilee could out pull the Kubota. Rear tire size difference is one of the reasons. If I had to do it over, I'd go for the M series.
