John Deere 2440 lift capacity?

I have a 2440 that is for sale and have a buyer with a notill food plot drill thet weighs 1600-1800 lbs with seed. Will the 2440 lift it? The operaters manual does not list any lift specs nor does the factory sales brochures. I know it will need a few weights. Thanks Tom

I?d sure think so. Neighbors had one for many years and they would carry large round bales on the 3pt hitch with no trouble. They also carried one on the front loader too. I think, like you said, extra weight on the front will be the issue.

I had one. No problem picking up a 6-row cultivator but I don't know what that weighed.

If you go back to the 2240, which is less HP, the lift is 2243 lbs. Should be fine for what your buyer needs. DOUG
