Wearing a monitor again

I mentioned to my MD yesterday that my pulse is going above 100 quite often so she had an event monitor put on me today for a week. It was at 1:45 this afternoon and my pulse has gone over 100 (103 & 104) 4 times since I've been home. I've said for the last 3 years that sometimes it feels like4 my heart is trying to jump out of my chest. My O2 level will go up to around 97 and my pulse goes crazy. She says it could be and probably is working my heart too much. Same thing I've been saying but I'm no Doc and don't know. The events of over 100 weren't involving anything but walking from the4 garage to the house and from the bathroom to my recliner. I haven't felt right since I got out of the hospital, so maybe this will tell them something. I need to get some work done, Keith

Dag Gummit, I sure do hope so. I'm tire of being sick and tires. She also has me scheduled for a CT scan of my lungs on the 20th of Feb & gonna get another stress test scheduled.

My wife has had heart trouble since she was 39. Every time she has told a doctor something is just not right, she has been right and the docs have been proven wrong. You really have to stand up for yourself and do not take "I do not think anything is wrong) for and answer. Heart attack, three pacemakers, two bypasses, and half a dozen stents.

I have just the opposite problem my pulse it too slow never out of the low 50's and has been checked as low as 38,doctor says my heart is very strong just beats slow they've run tests on me several times.

My wife has just had her fourth ablation but the electrocardiologist could not get to one section on the right side that was low. At least her rate is more controlable now as she reacts very strongly. Some people never know when they are out of sinus rhythm. She has had afib and aflutter both. She is not wanting to have him go into the left side again as that is more dangerous. Also she definately does not want a pacemaker even though her doctor devolped the 3 wire pacemaker. Her doctor is one of the very few doctors that we trust and is very nice and smart with the best bedside manors ever.

Best of luck.

I cannot agree more on that Luckey. I have had 5 bypasses and lost my wife of 37 years due to heart attac.

When a heart beats too fast it pumps shallower making it less efficient. My step mother had episodes where her heart went up to 170 bpm. It was pumping so shallow she was gasping for air laying in her hospital bed. The doc finally stopped her heart and when it started back up all was fine. She was 84 at the time.

When I was being prepped for shoulder surgery my pulse was 47. The nurse told me I must be a marathon runner. I told her I was not but I live by a town called Marathon. I got NO response! LOL

When did the problem start? Any changes in your life that could correlate with the problem? For me nnalert or Prilosec shoots my blood pressure off the charts and I can't walk across the room without being short of breath. I can only use Acyphex for acid reflex. Interesting it only takes a few days to react, but a couple of years to get back to normal.
I know several people who have had serious reactions to medications.
O2 level of 97 is good. You can GOOGLE O2 level to get information on acceptable O2 levels.

I had Afib once. I have worn the monitor twice. Now I have a Medtronics implant. No one will tell me if I have Afib or not yet I am to take warfarin for the rest of my life. I feel fine, can't tell when I have Afib. I had the Medtronics scanned, it spit out a bunch of paperwork. Now cardiologist says I had rapid heart rate. I seriously doubt it, I think I would know. I think they are just milking Medicare.

Mine isn't supposed to be, I'm on Metoprolol to regulate my heart beat. My normal beat on it is also in the high 40s and low 50s. I figure she'll find out what's going on, I'm scheduled for a CT scan of my lungs to see if there is anything going on in there like Cancer. My body mass is going away and I'm getting so darned weak that I have a hard time opening a jar that has been sealed. Never fear tho, I have gone to canned beer so I don't have to twist the caps off LOL. Keith

You need to get some good ale. The really good ales and beers don't have twist off caps.
