Front tractor tire swap

Ive got a narrow front tractor that I have a loader on that has 6.00 X 16 tires on it. I was wondering if putting some 6.50 X 16s on it the tires would hold up better. I have seen some 8 ply tires but not sure of the quality. Want to be able to stick with 3 rib ones if possible.

I had 15 inch pickup tires on my loader swapped em out to 11.00 16 tractor tires sure made a big difference

My Cockshutt 40 (wide front) had the typical 3 rib 7.50x16, six ply tires on it many years ago. We got some good used 7.50x16 truck tires and put on. Not sure if they are 8 or 10 ply but they are some tough old tires. I installed them 40 years ago and they still look as good as the day I put them on. No tread so it might slide a little when turning on ice and snow.

Allen if they will fit go for it. We did quite a few of them over the years. For a loader I would recommend Firestone's. They had a tougher casing than any other tire we sold.

Between 6:00 and 6:50 will not make much difference, a bit but not much. If you have clearance try 7:50 x 16" tires, that would make a worthwile difference. Might be 4 rib tho instead of the 3 rib but not noticable difference in handling but if anything will handle better.

I had 7.50 X 16 tires on the front of my Oliver 1365 2WD with a loader,put on a set of 12.5 X 15 12 ply tractor tread tires made a big difference.Mounted them on rims off a New
Holland round baler the rims were heavy built and had the right offset.
