I've lived in country my whole life but never one day a tractor. Just got my first one its a ford. so don't know much any answers would be very helpful. The guy told me it was a jubilee. And from the pictures I've looked at it looked like one but it's diesel and 53 & 54 didn't come out diesel. I've looked all over for serial number I've found 4 numbers but can't find out any information 1 is on front left of Block it's OM27. The 2nd same side Dorman 555-048. 3rd on right side of Block under brakes 310835 under that says 1AA1 then 4th on same side Block conn 8015G any help would be appreciated. I tried uploading photos but guess I'm doing something wrong

You just need to make a few more posts, then you will be able to post pics... either that or on the left-side scroll down to Feedback Form under the Miscellaneous tab - and you can request permission to post pics early.

The delayed permission to post pics is just to stop spammers/goofballs.

ok thanks that was my first post I tried hitting upload photos but I guess it didn't have a summit button afterwords

Serial number should be on the "flat spot"
behind and above the starter kinda
underneath the air cleaner and battery.
Should be serial number and model number
stamped there I believe. Sometimes on the
diesels it corodes and might not be
readable.

What trannsmission does it have? 5 speed?
( 4 forward, 1 reverse?)

Does it have live PTO?

Sounds like maybe a ford 861D. Pics will
help.

(quoted from post at 00:42:45 01/31/18) so a 800 would just be called a 800 series ford right ?
An 800 series tractor has many models - 840, 850, 860, etc.
An 800 series would not have a diesel engine originally though.
801 or later. 841, 851, 861, 871, 881, all different variations.

On the flat spot just aft of the starter, above the two big bolt holes,
you should find the model and serial number of the tractor. That will
help us tell you what it is. As long as the trans hasn't been changed.

Scroll down a bit farther to the Ford forum for more specific help.

Picture of where the serial # should be.
Hit the link for a great site on
identifying your Ford.

John Smiths site.

(quoted from post at 00:32:11 01/31/18) is a 800 series still a jubilee?
Nope. Far better in many ways. Bigger, more horsepower, better
hydraulics, more transmission options, live PTO options, etc.

I still love my Jubilees though! Jubilees "technically" 1953 NAA
model tractors only. The 1954 NAA was the same tractor basically
but not a "Jubilee" because it wasn't the 50 anniversary of Ford.

In 1955 they were replaced with the 600 series. 640 would have
been the closest replacement but the 600 series came in many
varieties too. 620, 630, 640, 650, 660, etc.
The 800 series, same year, same story with the varieties.

Still no diesel though. Not until the x01 series in 1958 model year.
Then again they were 6x1, 8x1 with various options.

I see Andy already posted a link to John Smith's site, so I won't.
John is a wealth of knowledge! Thanks Andy.

people get so confused with Ford tractors, it gets kinda funny.

If you have a 8x1 diesel Ford, pretty nice tractor, lot more features than a Jubalee. Perhaps not the best Diesel engine ever made, but good
enough.

What kind of transmission do you have, 4 speed, 5 speed, 5 speed with live pto, or SOS? I'd prefer the 5 speed with live pto myself. The SOS is
nice if it works, a money pit if it doesn't. Nothing wrong with the plain 4 or 5 speed but no live pto on those.

From the rear of your tractor what does it look like where the draft spring toplink connects. first a jubilee/NAA rear

Next is a 600/601 rear

next is an 800/801 rear

it's a 4 speed with reverse. The guy I got it from said it was live pto but haven't had a brush hog yet to test that part yet. I'll check that spot again for the numbers when I get off work. And I really appreciate everyone's responses

knowing my luck the guy probably screwed me on the tractor and got something parts are hard to come by.

I'm still trying to post pictures but I go to the box that says advanced posting tools and hit upload photos and it tells you to choose a file and it will let me and I do the same in the box underneath that. But afterwards there's no summit option?

"tells you to choose a file and it will let me"

After you choose the file click the upload button and wait for the
picture to appear in the little thumbnail box. Once it does, click
the new continue link that shows up above that box.
The picture has to be fairly small. 1200 x 1600 works for me.
Code to add the photo will be added to the bottom of your post
when you click the continue button. You can see the tags. Then
you can click preview to see what it will look like then submit to post.

No need to do anything with the section below the advance posting tools.

Sounds like you have a 841 Diesel then.

The 4 is for the 4 speed, it will not have live pto. There are some very, very rare add on conversions, but doubt you have that. For bush hogging
and other jobs where there isa heavy pto flywheel type load on the tractor, you might want an 'over running clutch' on the pto to make it a little
easier to stop moving.

All of the 100 series tractors have live hydraulics, as does the Jubilee. Perhaps that is where the seller got confused.

Pretty nice tractor, not at all what the fella said he sold you, but mostly you got a better machine, not the features he claimed, but a nice tractor
model.

Please email them again. With my big fingers and trying to view
on phone I some who deleted it
Probably an 801 from what I did see

Here are some photo. Believe from the photos to be an 801 powermaster model 841. Way better machine then an NAA/Jub and has power steering too.

Your block is at least a 1960. "C" is 1960's, "0" is for 1960, first "N" is tractor division, second "N" is tractor parts, "6015" is the base number for an engine block, "G" is the change level. The "G" from what I've found is for a 134 sleeveless block with spin on oil filter.

thanks for posting those pictures for me. My boy sure is happy we finally got a tractor. He was driving it 20 minutes after I got it off the trailer lol

Stupid fat fingers of mine. To continue you said yours is a diesel so it would be a 144, not a 134 so my cheat sheet may be wrong. I'm going to follow this thread and any follow ups. I'm always trying to get more info.

looks in real nice shape mejohn, it's not all beat up and bent like a lot of loader tractors you see out there. now the next step is to get your son some coveralls and get him started on a full service of the machine. did you get the manual for the machine john? they should be on the YT. store here or find and order online. besides getting a lot of work done around the place it's a great opportunity for your son to learn a lot of the basic mechanical skills he'll need going through life, welcome to the crazy tractor world, you and your son will have a lot of fun together. john.

no manual and he's already been driving it a lot and he has overalls he hunts with me and works on my truck and my Harley with me and he's glad we have a tractor so he doesn't have to do as much work as well lol

look at the pic of kirks tractor, the rear wheel area ,see how his is smooth inside the lug nuts on the axle end. the jubile which was a 1953 only model has a big nut in that location, kirks tractor has a much more robust rear end, as i think youll find yours does, no jubilee ever came diesel powered, and i think the way the hydraulic system is on a jube it would be about impossible to re power one with a diesel, what you have is a much newer tractor, probably at least a 800 series, the serial number should be on a flat place on the transmission behind the starter, you may need to scrape off some paint to read it, we need that whole number, and we'll tell you what you bought, the confusing part on fords is that basic sheet metal was kept from the jubilee all the way up thru the mid 2000 and 4000 series there are some small changes, to it, but the overall look is very close

well I'm off work I guess that flat spot behind the starter on the transmission has been taken off because theres not one and I'm still looking on the transmission for 1 but haven't had any luck yet. and I guess this damn guy never believed in greasing the tractor up because I hit every spot I could find and have went through 2 tubes of grease already. I believe in taking care of my stuff and it will last longer

a tube of grease a new filter, clean oil is the cheapest maintenance you can do on any machine john, I am constantly baffeled by people who will spend hundreds of thousands on vehicals and equipment and WON'T spend $5.00 for a tube of grease or a quart of oil  have you been able to locate a manual john?

haven't looked for a manual yet because I was still trying to find that serial number to find out what I even have. But guess I'll just try to find one for a 1960 841 powermaster ford.
