Ford 641 hydraulic problems

I have a 1960 Ford 641 my Hydraulics don't work exactly correctly. On first startup of day I can move lever to up position it will raise up but when I put it down it does not come back up. If I let engine run for 10 minutes or so then shut off let's set for 15 to 20 minutes my lift will start working then. It will then work the rest of the day slow but working. Anyone have any ideas?

Could be a couple of problems.
#1 water in the oil that has frozen
#2 wrong fluid type and is to thick as in a 90W oil
#3 seal between the rear end and or transmission has gone bad so now you have hyd oil and gear oil mixed so it is to thick in cold weather.

This occurred in warm weather also, I have changed fluid with correct fluid and I haven't noticed any seepage or leakage from rearend

If a seal is bad you will not see any leaks on the out side because the seals are internal to the rear end and transmission but when those seals go bad you can get mix of the gear oil and hyd oil and that slows the system down a lot due to having heavy weight oil mixed in

Only way to check the seals is to take the tractor apart. Me I just run a UTF fluid in all 3 areas so if the seal is bad it is not a problem. As long as the UTF meets the Ford 134D spec your ok
