Sunset Pictures

I was going through some pictures taken on a Kansas bird hunt over Thanksgiving weekend of some really beautiful sunsets. To keep it tractor related, the pics were taken near crop fields tractors worked. They were all taken with a Sony A6000 mirrorless. Not retouched or photoshopped in any way.

The first one was taken NW of Kinsley.

The next two were taken NE of Hays.

Not a sunset, this one was taken SE of Hays. Didn't notice the hawk on the Aeromotor until I was reviewing the pics later.

The next are gratuitous bird dog pictures.

The liver in the middle has the point, the orange facing the camera is her momma with the back, and the orange male in the foreground decided to make it a trifecta.

The sunsets are stunning. School me on the windmill. Was there a tower and tank on top the stone building or a tank directly on top?

Briar Hill Brittanys,
Great photos. Love sunrise/sunset pics.

Windmill is really neat and the stonework is beautiful.

I honestly don't know. A metal tank was next to the windmill, and both were a few yards behind the building. I took the shot from the road, with a 55-210mm wishing there was a little more than 210.

I really love going to Kansas, the sunsets, clear skies ,few people, and all of that open county. I have met some really nice friendly people there. Looks like you have some nice looking dogs. We have hunted the Oakley area and also south of Pratt. We did not make it out this year but hoping to this year. How did you find the bird population ? 2010 was a great year not any trouble finding birds. Good hunting Ole Ringneck.

I would say no tank, building was probably the milk house with a water tub thing the milk cans set in to keep the milk cool.
It would have a flow of water thru it and out into the water tank for the cows and horses. Would be a water barrel in there somewhere where they got a bucket of water to carry to the house.
That's how it was in the places I was in.

Yes, you said it. Thanks for the flowers on my dogs. We found enough pheasant to keep it interesting. The real story was the phenomenal upswing in bobwhites. Wow! Just Wow!
