How many tractors

would you own if you had unlimited funds? I don't know myself but there would be a whole bunch of happy sellers out there for a while at least.

I would sell my 6610 and get a new one with cab, and a 1920s Hart Parr because my grandfather would have built it.

That's a good question because you just cant have too many tractors.LOL Currently I have 20. And I'm always looking...wishing.....I have owned over 50 in my lifetime.

Probably no more than five, each dedicated to a purpose. That's about all I'd care to maintain.

What's the point in stockpiling a whole bunch of tractors if you can't do justice to them? I know a fellow who owns about 150 tractors and none of them are used in his daily activities. Most of them are just sitting there deteriorating.

I would maybe have 10-15 tractors. But I would have a full line of equipment and it would all be in like new condition. And I would have a farm to use it all on.

I have to many now but I think I would look harder for tractor's my dad used to own like the 1950T and Super 88. I moved my tractors around yesterday starting from the left 1951 RC 77 narrow front, 1951 RC 77 wide front, 1973 1555 and 1948 HG. All of these were non running when I bought them. I think a complete restoration of the 1555 with unlimited funds also because that was the first new tractor he bought.

I?ve got 9 now and honestly I would probably only add one. I?d like to have a brand new tractor for planting. The one I have isn?t too terribly old, but is starting to have a few gremlins. I would want to have the funds to trade it off every few years so I don?t ever deal with gremlins again!

I?d probably make some upgrades to the other machines. I?d like to add FWA to my 886 that I chore with. When it gets wet I have to use the big hog to feed because those front wheels just slide. Love the tractor, but wish I had FWA. The 4020 needs a rebuild and the 4440 needs a paint job and cab kit. Little things, but they just seem to take the back burner a lot.

Have half a dozen fully tricked out storage buildings. Climate controlled, you know. Then like Jay Leno you would have expert restoration crew. And then you could consider this. Your favorite tractor that only a few were made. Start your own custom assembly line. Built two or three of this one and a couple more of that one. And you could also build a couple of the experimental units that were not mass produced. Sound good?

Enough so each tractor had it's own job/implement. Just jump on and go! Then, as mentioned below, a winter place in the south would have its own requirements!

At one time I had about 15 but now its down to Dads MH44, Wifes Grandfathers Case DC4 and JD BR, the last 2 are restored, I have to admit I still think of my JD 70 gas std, one of the smoothest 2 cyl. I ever heard run, likely why someone bought it.

Unlimited funds...

The tractor decision would be up to the grounds keeper of each estate.

But then I might want to start up the tapioca farm in South America, just for recreational purposes.

Not counting work tractors at least 30-40. Right now it's not a problem as I need to get the Farmall M going and it will take a little money by the looks of it. I am pretty sure I have a manifold issue but tried it this morning just to keep it turned over. Now I have a Bendix on the starter to deal with as well as it does not engage the flywheel. I know I have spark to the points at least.

Only two more, a 7710 or maybe 7740 or 7840 if I can find one with the transmission I want, then a 60-70 hp Kubota 4x4 with cab for winter feeding.
Of course with unlimited funds my farm operation could get a lot larger and that would change everything.

Not sure just how many I would want to have all at once. while I have 6 that I use, and 4 that sit, don't think I want any more just to sit. I would like to buy some and try them out, if they didn't work out , just move them on. Things like a Bi-directional Versatile with a mounted haybind.

I've got enough money to buy more tractors but I really need to thin the herd from 12 down to no more than 4. It's hard to keep 4 up that I use to farm and still take care of the rest.

Probably just 1. A guy has my great grandfathers MH 101JR. It's in really rough shape stuck and it is for sale for 3x what's it's really worth. Would buy it and restore that one.

Three. One with loader, one with rotary cutter, and one to just putz around on and/or mount small implements. Right now I'd settle for one that would start.

I don't how many I have now with limited funds with unlimited it'd be quite a few.Need to go around and count them up one day have places in 3 different counties with right many tractors at each place.

As long as I had the place to keep them I'd have several of each series that I like. Massey 1100/1130/1150. Oliver 66/77/88. JD 2520/3020/4020. Have to fit a Ford 8 or 9000 in there somewhere.

If I had the funds, I would just build a barn to store what I have in. A new PU would be nice though. The old 99 Dodge is getting pretty rusted .

A fellow I used to haul fuel to had 23 that he used. I think he had 1 good battery that he continually moved from 1 to another. They were all gas AC's.

I would just have a few.
I'd like to have a 2,3,4,5 and 7000 Ford. Plus a couple of industrials from that era like 3500, 4400, 4500 tlb and some oddballs like a 5200 row crop, etc.
Of course I'd want a big heated shop too and some cold storage for implements, etc.

I have 90 some now, I have funds for more, but I get more satisfaction from the hunt and the deal, so I wait patiently....not sure how many I would have if I hadn't sold any
