Going to look at this next week. Farmer died and wife is cleaning out equipment. Looks well cared for and has been in barn.
I don't know much about these tractors.
Can someone tell me about this model?
Thanks, Richard

Those are a FIAT tractor built under license by UTB in Romania, and imported by Long. They are ruggedly built, but there are not as many aftermarket parts for them as some other makes. If you can find a local dealer that sells Sparex brand aftermarket parts they have the most I've come across.

That would be a 40 hp tractor. They are tough little buggers. The resale is not very high. Around here that would be a $2500-3500 tractor in top running shape. Parts can be found for the mechanical part fairly easily on the internet. They are an UTB built tractor so there are a lot of those UTBs around under several names, Montana and Long the most common in the US.

As for the value. I would only buy it IF I wanted to keep it to use. Selling it for anywhere near its value is going to hard. The majority of weekend warrior guys are going to skip over it and go for a newer compact with MFWD and a loader. This is happening every where as they can buy a package deal with financing. This has really hurt the 30-50 HP used market. So I think reselling it would be a slow process.

You might get $1500.00 out of it in my part of the country. Long is kindly a four letter word around here. Back when the tractors were more popular the dealer support was terrible and they left a lot of people hanging. I will say the 460's were probably the best of the lot. I have an injector pump off of one now.

I have one just been running two trailers hook in tandem behind a 460 to haul hay bales back here to the farm for the last 3 days.I bought it about 15 years ago at the Kubota dealer in Lynchburg VA,its been a pretty dependable tractor, easy on fuel and pretty good to operate. Its basically about the same tractor as my Oliver 1365 2WD except its a 3 cylinder also like the AC 5050 all those are
4 speeds with high/low.I like that trans better than the Long 445 and AC 5040 with 6 speed on 1 stick.I see the PTO clutch lever is down and that is a good sign as running it in the up position will cause severe crankshaft problems which will eventually ruin the crank and the block. The only real issue I've had with mine was the hydrastatic steering it wandered a lot so instead if fixing it I took it off and replaces it with standard steering with a steering box off a parts 1365 Oliver love it now nice comfortable tractor to drive. Also bought a Hesston
45-66 parts tractor awhile back and the canopy off the Hesston bolted right onto the 460.If you need anything I can help you with about it just give me a call.

The PTO disc is against the flywheel when the lever is left up in the disengage position it puts pressure on the flywheel which shoves the crankshaft forward after a while it'll wear out
the thrust washers then when they fall down in the oil pan the crank starts to wear the block.Pretty amazing how much it can wear and still run, when I bought my 1365 4WD I knew it had that problem when we tore it down both the crank and block had to be junked.I had a parts 1365 with a good block and crank so we used that with new sleeves, rings etc.

I think it is the forward force of the PTO throw out bearing pushing against the pressure plate. That is kind of a European design issue. I have owned several Duetz tractors and they had the same issue. On them you usually would not hurt the crankshaft but would wear out the throw out bearing real fast.
