I really don't know the difference between followers and subscribers. I recently passed the 1000 subscriber mark so I qualify if I want to monetize my channel. Still undecided on that.(quoted from post at 07:39:16 01/26/18) I don't know much about youtube, but I notice you have "followers", but I see others have "subscribers"- is the difference whether you get paid for clicks or not?
I do remember at the World's Fair in Vancouver BC about 30 years ago that your province had lots of great scenery narrated by a young girl, IIRC. Are you aware of it, and is there any way to watch it again?
I've heard/seen some rants from other youtubers about the changing policy this month. If you don't have a minimum of 1000 subscribers and a certain number of hours viewing, then youtube will not pay anything. I guess that is their way of getting better quality video content. So far I'm just doing it for fun.(quoted from post at 13:00:01 01/26/18) I don't know anything about it , but I think some make so much money they can quit their regular job ?

Thanks for that insight into the monetization thing Ken. I wondered if the ads might drive viewers away. I guess there is one way to find out. Like you, I'm in it mostly for fun but a little extra money would be ok too.(quoted from post at 17:12:57 01/26/18) Rusty... I can enlighten you a little. I, too have a channel (listed below)...
I guess for $4000 a month for videos I'd retire from farming too But then I"d have nothing much to shoot videos of.(quoted from post at 22:08:06 01/26/18)(quoted from post at 13:00:01 01/26/18) I don't know anything about it , but I think some make so much money they can quit their regular job ?
Yeah I think with around 100k subscribers and steady posting you can make around $4000 a month. .
True, there is a lot of stuff on there that is basically a waste of time and electrons. But there is also some pure gold information and entertainment. Its become an addiction with me. Seems like almost anything I've broken and tried to repair, someone else has already done it and put a video of it on youtube. I've learned a lot there. The best ones I will just click the subscribe button so I get an alert whenever they post a new video.(quoted from post at 07:50:38 01/27/18) I don't even know how to get on youtube to watch the video unless it is a direct ling to click on from the poster. And then cannot always do it. And very few ever mentioned interest me enough to try to get on. Any post with something in header that sounds interesting to me if I open post and it goes to a video I just back out never to try it again.
