gotta have wheels under that engine. well maybe dont gotta but it sure would roll away from rear half lots easier.

Neat looking. The only thing with making terrific stuff like that is she is a one trick pony. Can you figure how somewhere down the road it can be used for another tractor? My dad did that when he made a stand to do model "A" Ford engines. That is all it was good for. He did work on three engines so it served. He made it so you could even run the engines in the stand. When that big four cylinder fired up talk about getting the blood pumping!

Yes that is what Im planning. I have a narrow front M5 I need to do a clutch in. We always moved the rear back on them in Vo-Tech. The fronts get to be a little tipsy, especially with a narrow front.

It should be somewhat adaptable for other tractors, by using different side plates. I have a couple M series MMs that have a 20" frame, which this fits. Part of the reason I bolted it together for the moment so I can make a few modifications. The later MMs had side rails that needed to be unbolted from the back when you split them, so they used the two bolt holes in the oil pan for a cross support to support the weight. I have a G950 MM to split for a clutch and that is a bit bigger than an M5 lol.

I read somwhere like for the CUBs you were supposed to make wood wedges and then bang them into the front of the casting between the axle and the casting. Keeps everything nice and square. Want real fun????? Try splitting a 450 trike sometime. You are messing around with something that will crush you with a couple of tons faster than you can blink. As they get bigger the fun only increases.

Yup, much easier to roll the back. Less tippy than the front so it is safer, larger tires roll more easily than smaller ones, and best of all those big tires give you mechanical advantage or leverage.

Sounds like some engineering. Good job and hope you have a beautifully smooth clutch when you are done. Also no leaks;).

Sometimes you find just the right piece of steel with the right bend for some applications.

That is what I figured a person would have to do with a wide front one. Cant imagine splitting a 450 like that, a narrow front is enough fun for me lol.
