OT Marathon oil/wood furnace

Anybody own one of these? Nephew just bought a used one for his big shop. You really have to have a good wood fire going for a while before it blows out heat. Lower damper door has a chain hooked to it - was there something on top to hold this chain?

I don't have one, but I'm guessing there was a thermostat on the upper part of the furnace that would attach by chain to the damper.
I used to have a wood boiler with a similar set up

not familiar with the Marathon, but my Woodchuck FHA has a chain attached to a servo that is controlled by the thermostat in my living space, can't imagine the Marathon is much different
