Tractor deal?

What do you guys think about this tractor? Seems like a fairly modern cab tractor for very good price. But I have never had an agco or White before, and don't even know where there is a dealer. 1800 hours and price is $22,500. In Illinois.

No personal experience with them, but I can tell you they were built in Italy by SAME Lamborghini Hurlimann. They used a 366 CI Lamborghini engine. I don't know where you'd ever find a cleaner, lower hour tractor for the money. I wouldn't be afraid of it. Don't let the followers of other brands yank you around,Agco gives good parts support.

They came out in 92 I believe. I think you could get them as an Agco Allis too if I'm not mistaken.

That is just a nice looking tractor and a lot of the features you will want and need. The only thing I would tell you before you pull the trigger is to think of a common repair you might do and then call the dealer and cost the parts. Back in the 1990's I congratulated myself in buying a really nice Lincoln Continental for a lot less than a lesser car would have cost me. The bubble sort of burst (not completely) when I had to have service the first time. For example...no shocks but air bags...$1200 per wheel. Do your homework, but it is a nice tractor.

Nothing wrong with anything Agco,if it seems like a good tractor in person and within your budget and your reasonably close to parts you'd have yourself a really nice tractor for years to come.

We still have our 2001 Continental. It's never had an issue. I know the bags are long overdue, but we both love that car. If you nail the gas you better have it pointed where you want to go.

I believe about all of the caterpillar dealers are also Agco dealers. I know MacCallister?s in Washington, IN is. Don?t know how far away for that you are seen it was on Evansville Craigslist. I?m thinking Whayne supply also has a store in Evansville and they carry Agco

Large dairy that I used to handle with Farm Credit in the 90's had lots of nice machinery, but an old SAME from the 70's was pulling the manure spreader. I joked with the owner about the sorry looking tractor ("I like that SAME- its a shame to call it used"). He said they had decided long ago that they would wear out a tractor before replacing it- and that ol' thing starts every day, hauls manure for a couple of hours, then does it again the next day.

Looking on Tractor House where the prices are usually 10-20% above what a tractor would sell for, $22,000 looks a little strong.

Look at the hours on it though. I've put over 1070 on my loader tractor just since I put a new tach on it 4 years ago. That's the kind of tractor that only falls in your lap when you're not looking for one.

That tractor looks like it has been taken excellent care of. Shuttle transmission and dual PTO make it a lot more versatile than many tractors in that HP range. It won't be there long with end of the year tax buying kicking into high gear.

Oh dear...mine was a 2001 also. White with beige leather seats. I never drove such a beautiful car. Electronics started going funky on it. Then a little rust showed up. It would ding ding at me all the while I was driving so I finally parked it so long it stopped running altogether. I sold it for $200 to the neighbor. He worked at the Ford Wixom facility (now gone...its a Menards) where they made Lincolns. Took that ba$tard about 5 minutes to get it started and they drove it away. I was just happy to see it drive off. One of only two vehicles I have really loved in my life. When your air bags are needing to be replaced...you will know. It doesn't make a secret of it. there will be a dramatic change.

Ray ,, First of all let me say it is you money and your decision if you like it go for it. That being said I have 40+ years experience in the farm tractor business and still am very active in the market. Area or location does make a difference. My opinion is current market on that tractor does not support that price. Nice tractor and low hours but 23 years old. Good strong auction would be 15 to 16 thousand. Dealer with maybe 90 day warranty 18,000 or so. Look on Tractor house but forget what they are asking. Go to auction results and I think you will see what I say is true. Again do not let me be the guy Rrlund is talking about and talk you out of it. You will have to make that decision but there are better buys out there. Again just one man,s opinion ,and notice it has been on there now for 22 days so has not been the bargain lots of folks are looking for and he has it on Several CL sites.

Shoot him a counter offer within reason and see what happens. Few years ago I bought a low hour (800) I think, CaseIH. Everyone said I paid to much for it. I have put thousands of hours on it and not spent one nickel on it besides tires. You will never be sorry you bought a nice low hour tractor. I sure am not.

Hi Just for fun google search 6105 white, and see what guys say. I run an Agco product called a Valtra 6400. It's a way better tractor than the same age and model Deere and was cheaper to buy with 4000 less hours and needing less spent to get it %100 right comparing them. Agco have a good parts system but the parts prices here in Canada are getting more stupid than Deere. The Valtra is European and so is that 6105 you might get sticker shock in a hurry compared to American built tractors. a clutch disc only for my 6400 was over $750 with Agco the release bearing was 500 and I never asked about the cover I re used mine.

We actually hired Lamborghini tractors for plowing back in the U.k that were 105's with front assist. It was a nice tractor and I knew the dealer well. he sold quite a few and some where more trouble than others, with gearbox and pto problems Same used a lot of the same parts.

From what i remember nearly 20 years ago the gearbox is not much heavier built than a smaller car. But if you can't find a gear suitable for the speed you shouldn't be trying to do the job. those had 25mph(40k) top speeds for the European market though. I'd say if it was a tractor I could afford to buy and pay for parts and somebody to fix when it goes wrong for what you can't fix your self I'd buy one and treat it right.
Regards Robert

Really? They told me when the nearest dealer tried claiming parts were NLA, even though the parts look up from AGCO said they were available, "well he sells lots on new equipment". And that was directly from AGCO. Some dealers are good, other are not. I'd check and see how the closest dealers is. Because of that dealer I won't own anything supported by AGCO. If we got a decent dealer that opinion could change.

That's not saying that's a bad tractor. Just that here we have a bad dealer. He'll tell you that something can't be fixed and try to sell you a replacement. Wish we had the old one back, they were great!

That tractor looks like it is well cared for. The price is on the high end of the range BUT it is a one owner, super clean tractor. IF you have a good local AGCO dealer then I would not be afraid of it.

The trouble I have found with AGCO tractors is they change models and factories so much that from one model to the next it is a whole different technology. That makes being a "good" mechanic on them tough. Also AGCO is terrible on parts pricing around here. They are much higher on lots of common parts. Then you have limited units built so the after market parts are limited. This one being a SAME built tractor MAYBE the same as Same so parts could be easier to find from others besides AGCO.

JD Seller, I followed one ring of that Memephis Mo. Auction on proxibid today and it looked like most of the more in demand tractors sold in a wide range from good prices down to kind of cheap. I noticed the older Masseys and Cases brought next to nothing even though some of them looked pretty good but a picture taken at the right angle can cover up a lot so you never know.

I have seen kits to convert the Ford air bags to reguar springs and shocks for $350 - 375 per axle. Considered it for my Expedition but I'm not going to keep it. Ford parts prices are outrageous as are their service rates.
