If it is a gasser get first piston up on compression or TDC and point rotary button to the wire that goes to that piston. I am sure someone here will elaborate on that but as I said before go to Messy Ferguson forum for someone smarter than me.
 
Continental 4 cyl, static timing 6* B.T.D.C. (at 2000 rpm's 24* - 28* B.T.D.C).
