Dieseltech asked me to post a few pictures of his tractor ride machine. He put roughly 1800 miles on it this year,I think. He calls it his Hillbilly Cruiser if I'm correct. Any other questions or remarks,I will direct to him.

Nice ride! However, don't believe I've ever seen rear tires quite like that, with the rubber running all the way around center of tire. Should make for a smoother ride on the road?

1800 miles-ok - What is the tan thing on the running board? Looks like a gas motor or a diving helmet. Generator?---Tee

The tires are by Goodyear/Titan in 12.4, 13.6, and 15.5 X 38, designed for tractor ride use. They do help, but flat spot bad like most farm tires do. That's why I have two trailer tongue jacks on back to lift some weight off when it sets overnight or longer. Had it in six states this year with 1,850 GPS miles on it so far. Has an electric air pump with storage tank for the semi air ride seat, an "Amish 12V Charger", which is a Delco alternator driven by a 4 HP Yanmar diesel that can be rope started. Tractor is wired with stop, turn, and brake lights, and set up for all trailer lights and brakes too. Snack tray in front of the dash for drinks, chips, etc. Driver gets about one hundred miles to a can of Pringles, tractor gets 9.5 to 12 MPG depending on whether pulling the trailer with the pickup or not. Thanks for posting Lewis! Some day I'll take time to learn how..

Made the steering wheel removable because of the air ride seat, when the seat comes up as when getting off it's harder to get out from under the wheel. The wheel is from an MF 750 combine that has a large center hub. I used a 560 center hub, turned it down in the lathe to fit the MF wheel bore, then used an allen screw to hold the square key to the hub. A lot easier to get on/off now with the wheel out of the way. Hard to see, but the exhaust has been re-routed underneath, using elbows as needed using an Oliver 1650 muffler. Don't have the muffler in the way anymore while I'm sightseeing now, plus it does not need covered when it sets in the rain.

I understand about the air ride seat. But, after four years of driving occasionally for some friends who never put any air in their truck seats I finally quit airing it up, and you know what? the seat is plenty soft without the air, even off road.

Some of the Amish carpenters in this area use tractors to pull a trailer with their tools etc. to the job site. One guy comes past my place when he has a job in the area. The tractor is an IH 560 (?) which I am told has another gear set in the rear end. I followed him one day and my speedometer was showing approximately 40 MPH. I believe he may also, have the governor tweaked a little - it is singing pretty when he comes past.

I enjoyed the post.

Top speed is 27 MPH. 10-20 MPH works well in high gear. The ride my friend and I attended in Minnesota we signed up for the fast group, was supposed to run 15-18 MPH. Both the bike speedometer I have on the left rear wheel and GPS showed we started out running 21-22 MPH. Asked the leader to slow down a bit as scenery is more enjoyable at the slower pace we were hoping for. Two other groups were 10-12 and 12-15. Friends Oliver 1550 diesel has the high speed gears, he was just keeping up starting out. There are Mennonites in my area that put IH 400-450 ring and pinion gears in 560s, then with 18.4 X 38 tires they will speed the engine up a bit to run 35-40 MPH. I have those gears, but don't think I need to put them in as it works fine as is. Pulled the trailer with the pickup to the Mackinac bridge crossing this year, 250 miles in 2 1/2 days, running 14-14 1/2 MPH on that trip. Got just under 10 MPG.

That's the second thing I noticed....the solid center rib for highway travel. Wish all farm lug F1s had that.

Does the canopy raise or do you drive hunkered over?

Nice creative machine. Super show bug.

When seated I still have 4-5 inches of clearance above my noggin. Old truck top is on mainly for shade, this one is coming off for next year. Have a ten foot long one that's built a bit wider to install this winter for next year's drives.

You'll have to find some room for the bubble machine too!

Rich, I think it looks good with the shiney paint:) I know your not big on new paint. I don't remember the trailer jacks before, you must have added them since I last seen you. Are you mounting the bubble machine from the massey on it?
