We ran the calves through the chute today. Castrated 40 bulls, ran 26 heifers through. nnalert them and poured them all with Cydectin. There are still 5 bull calves out with the cows across the road and 2 heifers out on the south side, all born late,so I'll leave them until snow flies. Didn't get kicked to death,so it was a good day.

That job and putting the plastic on the bunker silo, jobs that we do once a year but it sure seems like every week when we have to do it. It always seems like we just did it yesterday.

I had a Callicrate. I used it two years then sold it to BillinColorado. I couldn't get the hang of getting those bands up there. I bought one of those EZE T-1 banders. They hold the band open so all you have to do is slide them up over the sack, pull back so the band comes off the bars, then tighten it up,flip a lever down to crimp it and flip another lever to cut it off. I love that thing.
