Feeding With The John Deere

Nice looking rig. Bet you wouldn't have any trouble making that hill with a bale on a 3-pt bale fork on the rear. What is the HP of the JD?

Once it cools off and the snow gets dry, traction won't be a big problem. The engine in that 2140 I think is rated 70 hp. It is the same 239 cubic inch four cylinder diesel as I have in the 2360 swather but the tractor has a turbo added. Sound like a whole different engine compared to the swather.

I think you got a winner in the 2140......that bale setting so far out front has a lot leverage. Tractor seems tight and runs really smooth.

When I look at the John Deere parked beside the Massey it appears the JD 146 loader sits more toward the front of the tractor than the old Cancade loader does on the Massey. Consequently Massey might have a little more weight on the back axle. Cast rear wheels too as opposed to the stamped steel wheels on the JD.
